Originally from Akron, Ohio (home of Lebron "King" James), Danielle Howard has almost two decades of experience as a teacher, academic support and administrator in K-12 education as special education teacher, instructional coach and principal.. She spent the last 12 years in Macon, as an instructional coach, kindergarten teacher, and assistant principal and now a new principal. As an Instructional Coach her primary focus has been helping teachers implement best practices as it relates to literacy instruction and other research-based instructional practices. Now, as a principal she is responsible for leading turnaround school efforts through school and community empowerment by ensuring high levels of instruction by teachers, high levels of learning by students and sustaining the work by developing lasting relationships with all stakeholders. She is a hands on person that loves working with children, parents and teachers.

Dr. Howard holds a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. She also holds a master's degree in educational leadership from Mercer University and a Bachelors of Science degree in elementary and special education with a concentration on teaching students with emotional behavior disorders from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Dr. Howard has also been trained in cognitive coaching and has received her Reading Endorsement.

Before coming to Georgia, Dr. Howard spent most of her career as a teacher of students with emotional and behavior disabilities in Toledo and Columbus, Ohio. For many years, she had the opportunity to deliver standards based education, social skills training and character education to her K-6th grade students. Her passion for seeing growth in her students, led her to become a part of the Intervention based Student Assistance Team and collaborate with teachers to implement a peer tutoring program, where special needs students tutored younger students.

Now, she uses all of her educational training and experience as a teacher, coach, parent and mentor to offer leadership, direction and encouragement to a her staff of teachers, parents and students.

Dr. Howard currently resides in Macon, Georgia with her husband, 2 sons and a little lady!
